Serbia Slashes Fuel Taxes to Cap Gasoline and Diesel Prices
Serbia has drastically reduced fuel excise taxes in an effort to control gasoline and diesel prices, according to President Aleksandar Vučić. The tax cuts are designed to keep fuel costs manageable for consumers amid broader economic pressures. However, the measure will cost the Serbian state budget over 100 million euros monthly, representing a significant fiscal sacrifice to maintain price stability in the energy sector.
