Iran Blames US for Failed Peace Talks in Pakistan, Warns Over Strait of Hormuz

Share:

Iran has accused the United States of causing the failure of peace negotiations in Pakistan, while issuing warnings about the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian position comes as the country's diplomatic efforts appear to be intensifying, with Iranian officials seeking support from international partners. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, known by his surname Araqchi, has traveled to St. Petersburg to seek backing from Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical shipping lane through which approximately one-third of the world's seaborne oil passes, making it a key leverage point in regional geopolitics. The failed Pakistani talks and Iran's diplomatic outreach to Russia suggest Tehran is working to build international support amid ongoing tensions with Western powers.
