Slovakia Reopens Border Crossings with Ukraine After Russian Drone Attacks Near Frontier

Share:

Slovakia reopened its border crossings with Ukraine after temporarily closing them due to security concerns following massive Russian drone attacks. The Financial Administration, which oversees border operations, cited safety reasons for the closure. Russian drone strikes caused damage in the Ukrainian city of Uzhhorod, located near the Slovak border, with one drone reportedly hitting a marketplace. The border closure and reopening highlight how Slovakia, which shares a 97-kilometer border with Ukraine, continues to be affected by the ongoing war despite not being directly involved in the conflict.
