Fraudsters Steal from Elderly Woman After Obtaining Personal Data Through Cryptocurrency Investment Scam

Police in Slovakia are investigating another fraud case targeting an elderly woman who became victim to a cryptocurrency investment scam. Unknown perpetrators contacted the senior citizen by telephone, presenting what appeared to be an investment opportunity in cryptocurrency. During the call, the fraudsters successfully obtained the woman's personal information, which they then used to steal money from her. The case represents the latest in a series of similar scams targeting elderly citizens across Slovakia, where criminals use fake investment opportunities as a pretext to gather sensitive personal and financial data before robbing their victims.
