Son of Chechen Leader Launches Energy Drink Despite Regional Ban

The son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has begun selling his own energy drink brand, despite a ban on energy drink sales that has been in place in the Russian republic since 2013. The Chechen parliament prohibited the sale of energy drinks over a decade ago, making the launch of the new product by a member of the ruling family particularly notable. Chechnya is a federal subject of Russia in the North Caucasus region, led by Kadyrov who has governed the republic under Moscow's authority since 2007.
