Slovakia Opens First Highway Electric Vehicle Charging Hub Near Bratislava

Share:

Slovakia has opened its first dedicated highway charging hub for electric vehicles near the village of Jarovce, just outside Bratislava. The facility was launched by ZSE Drive, an electric vehicle charging operator, as part of a broader infrastructure project led by the National Motorway Company (Národná diaľničná spoločnosť), the state-owned body responsible for managing Slovakia's motorway network. The Jarovce site is the first of several planned locations intended to build out a modern charging network across the country's highway system, catering to both private electric cars and electric freight vehicles. The project reflects Slovakia's push to develop the infrastructure needed to support the transition to electric mobility, in line with broader European Union targets to reduce transport emissions and increase the adoption of zero-emission vehicles.
