Railway Crossing in Záhorie Region Out of Service, Police Warn Drivers

Share:

Police from the Railway Police Division have issued a public warning about a malfunctioning railway level crossing in the Záhorie region of western Slovakia. The crossing, designated SP 1975 and located in Plavecký Štvrtok, a village northwest of Bratislava, is currently not operational. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when approaching the crossing, as the standard warning signals and safety systems are not functioning. Railway level crossings in Slovakia are typically equipped with automatic barriers and lights to alert road users of approaching trains; when these systems fail, the risk of accidents increases significantly.
