A Slovak rescue team is on the ground in Venezuela assisting relief efforts following a powerful earthquake that has killed more than 1,450 people. Slovakia, a Central European EU and NATO member state, has dispatched emergency responders as part of the international humanitarian response to one of the deadliest seismic disasters to hit the South American country in recent memory. The death toll continues to rise as search and rescue operations press on in affected areas.
