Tehran has firmly denied reports about the health and safety of Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, whose current condition and whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery. American media outlets, citing Iranian sources, have reported that Khamenei has sustained injuries and is in emergency hiding. However, Youssef Pezeshkian, son of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, categorically rejected these claims on Wednesday. Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, recently assumed the country's highest religious and political position following his father's death, making him the ultimate authority in Iran's theocratic system of government.
