Slovakia Falls Short of European Standards for Women's Violence Prevention Services
Share:
Slovakia's capacity to provide assistance to women affected by violence fails to meet even half of the standards recommended by the Council of Europe. The Coordination and Methodological Center for Prevention of Violence Against Women highlighted this significant shortfall in the country's support services. The Council of Europe, which sets human rights standards across the continent, has established guidelines for adequate protection and assistance programs for victims of gender-based violence. Slovakia's current infrastructure appears insufficient to meet these international benchmarks, suggesting a need for expanded funding and resources to properly address violence against women in the country.
