UN Peacekeeper Killed by Projectile Strike at Lebanon Base

A UN peacekeeper was killed and another seriously wounded when a projectile struck a UNIFIL base near Adshit al-Qusayr in Lebanon. The injured soldier is in critical condition at a hospital. UNIFIL, the UN peacekeeping force deployed in southern Lebanon since 1978 to monitor the cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon, stated they do not yet know the origin of the projectile and have launched an investigation. The organization emphasized that no one should lose their life while serving in the cause of peace.
