Hundreds of Slovak Patients Left Waiting for MRI Scans Amid Insurance-Provider Dispute

Hundreds of patients in Slovakia are facing delays in accessing MRI scans after becoming caught in a commercial dispute between Dôvera, one of the country's three health insurance companies, and Pro Diagnostic Group (PDG), a private medical imaging provider. The two parties are locked in a disagreement over payment rates for MRI examinations. As a result, PDG facilities are not accepting patients covered by Dôvera insurance for MRI procedures, leaving those patients unable to access timely diagnostic care. Insurers contract with healthcare providers to deliver services to their members, and when those contracts break down or fall into dispute, patients can find themselves without access to care.
