Petržalka District Acquires Veľký Draždiak Lake for Over Three Million Euros
The Petržalka borough of Bratislava has completed the purchase of Veľký Draždiak, a popular recreational lake, along with sections of its surrounding shoreline. The district paid more than three million euros to acquire the property, which now comes under public municipal ownership. Veľký Draždiak is one of the most visited outdoor recreational areas in Petržalka, a densely populated residential district on the southern bank of the Danube that is home to a large share of Bratislava's population. The lake and its banks are widely used by local residents for swimming, leisure, and outdoor activities during summer months. By taking ownership, the borough aims to secure public access and exercise direct control over the area's development and management, rather than leaving it in private hands.
