More than 30 countries will gather in London to discuss an international mission aimed at protecting shipping in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Over a dozen nations indicated last week their willingness to join the British and French-led maritime security operation in the vital waterway. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, with approximately one-fifth of the world's petroleum passing through the narrow passage between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula.
