Mountain Rescuers Assist Injured Woman in Veľká Fatra, Helicopter Grounded by Weather

Mountain rescue teams responded to an injured woman in the Veľká Fatra range, a popular mountainous region in central Slovakia. Rescuers from the Mountain Rescue Service (Horská záchranná služba, HZS), the organization responsible for emergency response in Slovakia's highland areas, were called to assist the incapacitated hiker. Although the team requested support from the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, adverse weather conditions at the time of the request prevented the helicopter from taking off, leaving ground rescuers to carry out the operation without aerial assistance.
