Environment Ministry Halts Antimony and Gold Survey in Little Carpathians

Share:

Slovakia's Environment Ministry has stopped a geological survey for antimony and gold deposits in the Little Carpathians mountain range. The ministry, which oversees environmental protection and natural resource management in Slovakia, terminated the exploration project that was investigating potential mining opportunities in the protected mountain area northwest of Bratislava. Any future mining operations in the region would be required to undergo a comprehensive environmental impact assessment before receiving approval. The Little Carpathians are a protected landscape area known for their biodiversity and serve as an important recreational zone for the capital region.
