Slovak E-Shops Must Now Offer Online Contract Withdrawal Function Under New Law

Share:

Slovak online retailers face a new legal obligation as of June 19, requiring them to provide customers with a fully functional online tool for canceling purchases — not merely a downloadable form. Under the updated consumer protection legislation, e-shops must offer an integrated digital function through which shoppers can complete, confirm, and submit a contract withdrawal directly on the retailer's website or platform. The change strengthens consumer rights by making it easier for buyers to exercise their right to cancel orders without having to download, print, or manually submit paperwork. Many Slovak e-commerce operators are reportedly unaware of the requirement, raising concerns about widespread non-compliance in the immediate aftermath of the law taking effect.
