Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák estimated that construction of a new hospital in Prešov will face a delay of three to four months during political discussions. Kaliňák, a member of Smer-SD, the ruling social-democratic party, provided the timeline assessment regarding the major healthcare infrastructure project in eastern Slovakia's second-largest city. The delay represents a setback for the hospital construction, which is part of Slovakia's broader healthcare modernization efforts.
