European Committee of the Regions President Visits Bratislava Region to Review EU-Funded Projects

Kata Tüttő, President of the European Committee of the Regions — the EU body representing local and regional authorities — visited the Bratislava Self-Governing Region in mid-June on a two-day programme to assess how European Union funds are being put to use at the local level. During her visit, Tüttő toured several key projects financed through EU structural funds, including the Čunovo Eco-Centre, an environmental education facility that is already fully operational, as well as other ongoing regional initiatives. The European Committee of the Regions serves as an advisory body of the EU that gives regional and local governments a formal voice in European policymaking, making such visits part of its efforts to monitor how EU cohesion funding translates into concrete outcomes on the ground. The visit was seen as a positive acknowledgment of the Bratislava region's track record in converting EU funds into tangible projects benefiting local communities.
