
Slovak-Rooted NHL Star Tuch Signs Eight-Year Deal with Washington Capitals

Alex Tuch, a 30-year-old NHL winger with Slovak heritage, has signed an eight-year contract with the Washington Capitals after leaving the Buffalo Sabres. Tuch has ancestral roots in Slovakia through his great-grandmother, who was originally from Holíč, a town in western Slovakia. The deal represents one of the more significant free-agent signings in the NHL, bringing the experienced forward to the Capitals, a prominent franchise based in the U.S. capital.
