Exhausted Elderly Hiker Rescued in Tatra Mountains After Initially Refusing Help

An elderly man had to be carried off the mountain on a stretcher after becoming exhausted while descending difficult terrain in the Tatra Mountains in northern Slovakia. The man initially refused assistance when it was offered, but rescuers and a mountain hut keeper eventually intervened. Mountain rescue workers ultimately transported him to safety on a stretcher.
