Pope Leo XIV Receives First Female Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury

Pope Leo XIV met with the first woman to serve as Archbishop of Canterbury, the head of the Anglican Church. During their meeting, the Pope called for unity between the churches to more effectively spread the Gospel message. The historic encounter represents a significant moment in Christian ecumenical relations, as the Archbishop of Canterbury leads the global Anglican Communion of approximately 85 million members worldwide, while the Catholic Church under papal leadership represents over 1.3 billion Catholics globally.
