Flu-like illness cases surge 14 percent in Slovakia's Žilina region

Share:

The Žilina region recorded a 14 percent increase in acute respiratory infections, with public health authorities registering 188 reported cases of flu and similar illnesses. This translates to an incidence rate of 52 cases per 100,000 residents in the northwestern Slovak region. The Regional Public Health Authority (RÚVZ) in Žilina is monitoring the outbreak as part of routine seasonal disease surveillance. The increase follows typical patterns for respiratory infections during colder months, though health officials continue to track the spread to ensure appropriate public health measures are in place.
