Slovak Society Still Places Primary Responsibility for Parenthood on Women Despite Male Age Risks

Slovak society continues to place disproportionate pressure on women regarding decisions about having children, despite growing evidence that older fathers also carry health risks for their offspring. The discourse around delayed parenthood in Slovakia remains focused primarily on women postponing motherhood, while societal expectations and messaging largely ignore the role of men in family planning decisions. Research shows that advancing paternal age can contribute to various health complications for children, yet public health campaigns and social pressure continue to target women almost exclusively when addressing declining birth rates and later parenthood trends.
