Slovak Printing Industry Competition Highlights Strong Vocational Training Standards

Share:

A vocational competition called PRINT STAR 2026 has underscored the high quality of training being provided to future printing professionals in Slovakia, at a time when the printing industry faces a persistent shortage of skilled workers. The contest, which brought together students studying to become print operators, drew attention to the value of specialized education in the sector. Employers in the printing and graphic arts industry have shown strong interest in virtually every graduate of the print operator program, reflecting the scale of the workforce gap. The competition, organized under the auspices of the Bratislava Region — one of Slovakia's eight administrative regions — is designed to motivate students and raise professional standards in a trade that, despite the rise of digital media, remains economically relevant. The event highlighted ongoing efforts by regional authorities and vocational schools to bridge the gap between classroom preparation and the demands of the modern printing industry.
