Russia launched a massive overnight missile and drone attack against Ukraine, killing nine people and causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure in major cities. The strikes hit more than 40 locations across Kyiv, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv military administration, with reports of widespread damage to residential buildings and civilian facilities. The eastern city of Kharkiv also reported casualties and destroyed homes from the bombardment. The attack represents another escalation in Russia's ongoing military offensive against Ukraine, which has frequently targeted civilian areas and infrastructure since the invasion began in February 2022.
