Four students from a Bratislava high school claimed four medals at the 2026 International Mathematical Olympiad, delivering an exceptional result for Slovakia on the global stage of competitive mathematics. All four medalists attend Gymnázium na Grösslingovej ulici — commonly known as 'Gamča' — a prestigious grammar school in Bratislava managed by the Bratislava Self-Governing Region, the regional administrative authority responsible for secondary schools in the area. The team secured one gold medal and three bronze medals, contributing to a strong overall performance by the Slovak national delegation at the competition. The International Mathematical Olympiad is the world's most prestigious mathematics competition for high school students, held annually and drawing participants from over 100 countries.
