March 25 Marks International Day of Remembrance for Victims of Slavery and Transatlantic Slave Trade

Slovakia joins the international community in observing March 25 as the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The date was chosen to commemorate the British Parliament's passage of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act in 1807, which marked a significant step in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
