Slovak Man Reclaims Family Manor Seized From Ancestors, Plans €2 Million Restoration

A Slovak man whose family had their manor house and surrounding land confiscated during the communist era has successfully reclaimed the property and is now planning its restoration. The owner, whose ancestors lost the estate under the property seizures that were common during Czechoslovakia's communist period — when private land and buildings were nationalized by the state — had to fight through legal channels to recover what his family once owned. He is now preparing a renovation project estimated to cost approximately two million euros to restore the manor to its former condition.
