Putin's Ukraine invasion has damaged Russia's global partnerships and influence

Share:

Russian President Vladimir Putin believed that invading Ukraine would restore Russia's status as a global superpower, but the military campaign has instead severely damaged the Kremlin's credibility as a reliable partner and ally on the international stage. The invasion, which Putin launched in February 2022, was intended to demonstrate Russian strength and reassert Moscow's influence in global affairs. However, the prolonged conflict has led to international isolation, economic sanctions, and strained relationships with traditional partners, undermining Russia's diplomatic standing and reducing its ability to project power beyond its borders.
