Public health officials have identified three new outbreaks of hepatitis A virus in the Rožňava district of eastern Slovakia. The Regional Public Health Authority, which monitors infectious disease outbreaks and implements containment measures, is tracking the new cases in the area. Last year, the district recorded 195 cases of hepatitis A, indicating the region has been dealing with ongoing transmission of the highly contagious liver infection that spreads through contaminated food, water, or close contact with infected individuals.
