Lightning Strike Injures Czech Tourist in Slovakia's Low Tatras Mountains

A lightning strike hit a group of three Czech female tourists hiking in the Low Tatras mountain range in central Slovakia, sending one woman to hospital. The incident occurred on a red-marked hiking trail below Kráľova hoľa, one of the prominent peaks in the range, when the group was caught in a storm. As one of the women's condition deteriorated, mountain rescue services — the Horská záchranná služba (HZS), Slovakia's dedicated mountain rescue organization — were called in to intervene and provide assistance.
