Slovak PM Fico Travels to Cyprus for EU Summit on Ukraine and Budget

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico traveled to Cyprus to participate in an informal European Union summit where leaders will discuss Ukraine and the bloc's new budget. The summit agenda includes negotiations on continued support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, as well as discussions on the EU's next multi-annual financial framework. Fico's program on the Mediterranean island also includes a visit to the buffer zone and paying respects to the UN peacekeeping mission. Cyprus hosts a UN peacekeeping force that maintains a buffer zone between the Greek Cypriot south and Turkish Cypriot north, parts of the island that have been divided since Turkey's 1974 invasion.
