Madrid calls cancellation of European fighter jet project 'bad news for Europe'

Spain has criticized the cancellation of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS), a multi-billion euro European fighter jet development project, calling it bad news for Europe. The ambitious defense program, worth tens of billions of euros, had been plagued by long-standing disputes between French aerospace company Dassault Aviation and European aerospace giant Airbus, which represented Germany and Spain in the partnership.
