Six killed in army attack on displacement camp in Sudan

Six people were killed when the Sudanese army shelled a displacement camp housing thousands of displaced civilians. Grenades destroyed several homes in the camp, which serves as shelter for people forced from their homes by the country's ongoing conflict. The attack highlights the continued targeting of civilian areas in Sudan's civil war that began in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which has created one of the world's largest humanitarian crises with millions displaced internally and as refugees in neighboring countries.
