Bratislava Motorway Segment Gets Noise-Absorbing Barriers in Central Median

A stretch of motorway between the Sitina tunnel and the Bratislava district of Devínska Nová Ves has been fitted with noise-absorbing barriers, including along the central median dividing opposing lanes of traffic. Unlike traditional reflective noise walls, the new barriers are designed to absorb sound rather than deflect it, reducing noise pollution for surrounding residential areas. The Sitina tunnel is part of the D2 motorway corridor running through the western edge of Bratislava, Slovakia's capital, where urban development sits in close proximity to major road infrastructure.
