Israeli Officials Reject EU Sanctions Against West Bank Settlers
Share:
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and other officials have rejected European Union sanctions targeting Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Ben Gvir criticized the European Union as antisemitic and declared that the settler movement would not be intimidated by the measures. He stated that Israel would continue building, planting, defending, and settling throughout all Israeli territory. The EU sanctions represent the latest escalation in diplomatic tensions between Europe and Israel over settlement activities in the occupied West Bank, which are considered illegal under international law but are supported by Israel's current right-wing government coalition.
