Eleven pro-Iranian fighters died in airstrikes that hit bases of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces near the Syrian border and Baghdad. The United States is suspected of carrying out the attacks. The strikes are part of an ongoing cycle of violence in which pro-Iranian groups have repeatedly launched rocket and drone attacks on American bases in Iraq and Syria since the war in Gaza began, with the US responding through airstrikes and drone operations against these militia positions.
