London hosts key military talks on future of Strait of Hormuz security

More than 30 countries are meeting in London to discuss a mission to protect the Strait of Hormuz following conflicts in the Middle East. The talks aim to coordinate a joint response to U.S. actions in the strategically vital waterway. The Strait of Hormuz serves as a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, with roughly one-fifth of the world's petroleum passing through the narrow channel between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula. Any disruption to shipping through the strait could significantly impact global energy markets and supply chains.
