Appeals Court to Rule Monday on Detention of Two Police Officers in Corruption Case

Share:

An appeals court will decide Monday whether to keep two police officers in custody as part of Operation Kajúcnik, a major corruption investigation targeting law enforcement personnel. The officers, identified as Ján Čurilla and Pavel Ďurka, were released from detention last week by judge Tomáš Hajduk but prosecutors are challenging that decision. The police inspection unit has brought charges against seven people in total as part of the operation, including four current police officers, two former officers, and one civilian. Operation Kajúcnik appears to be focused on alleged corruption within Slovakia's police force, though the specific charges have not been disclosed.
