Seventeen-year-old Slovak tennis player Pohánková defeated German Tamara Korpatsch 6-2, 7-6 (1) in the first round of qualifying at a tennis tournament in Berlin. The wildcard holder completed the victory in 99 minutes against the local player, advancing her closer to earning a spot in the main draw of the tournament.
