Ukraine has reclaimed more than 600 square kilometers of territory from Russian forces, marking the first significant territorial gains after months of Russian advances, according to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyj. In May alone, Ukrainian forces regained 100 more square kilometers than they lost, Syrskyj announced on Telegram. The territorial gains represent a potential turning point in the war, which has seen Russian forces making steady advances in recent months across multiple fronts in eastern and southern Ukraine.
