Slovakia Moves to Digitize Vehicle Inspection Certificates

The Slovak Transport Ministry is preparing to digitize technical vehicle inspections, allowing drivers to receive electronic protocols instead of traditional paper documents after completing mandatory safety and emissions checks. Under the planned changes, motorists will have the option to choose between physical and digital certificates when they complete their required STK (technical inspection) and EK (emissions test) procedures. The digitalization initiative represents part of Slovakia's broader efforts to modernize government services and reduce bureaucratic paperwork for citizens.
