Short-term inflation expectations among consumers in the eurozone have moderated, according to the latest data, while longer-term expectations remained unchanged. The easing of near-term price outlooks may offer some relief to the European Central Bank, which sets monetary policy for the 20-nation eurozone and has been closely monitoring consumer sentiment as part of its effort to bring inflation back to its 2% target following a prolonged period of elevated prices across Europe.
