Slovakia Develops Guidelines for Quality, Sustainable Rental Housing Based on EU Design Principles

Share:

Slovak experts have prepared practical guidelines for implementing quality and sustainability standards in rental housing projects across the country. The initiative draws on principles from the New European Bauhaus movement, which emphasizes the use of ecological materials, reducing energy consumption in buildings, and improving the quality of public spaces. Housing Minister Tomáš Taraba's deputy, Lisová, stressed that rental housing should not only be affordable but also meet high standards for quality and environmental sustainability. The guidelines aim to help developers and local authorities integrate these European design and sustainability principles into actual housing projects, addressing Slovakia's ongoing housing affordability crisis while ensuring new developments meet modern environmental and quality standards.
