Slovak Hurdler Zapletalová Speaks on World Record Potential After Diamond League Win
Slovak track and field athlete Emma Zapletalová, fresh from a victory at the Diamond League meeting in Doha, Qatar, says she does not yet know the limits of her ability but acknowledged she does not run as fast even without hurdles. Zapletalová spoke to journalists on Tuesday in Banská Bystrica, a city in central Slovakia, at a press conference ahead of the P-T-S athletics meeting scheduled for July 21 in the city. She will serve as the headline act at the event. The Diamond League is the top-tier international athletics circuit, featuring the world's best track and field competitors across a series of global meets. Zapletalová is set to compete next at a meeting in Zagreb, Croatia, before returning for the home event. Her comments about not knowing her limits came in response to questions about the possibility of a world record performance.
