Iranian Parliament Speaker Rules Out Ceasefire with US, Vows Retaliation

Share:

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the influential speaker of Iran's parliament, categorically rejected any possibility of Tehran pursuing a ceasefire with the United States and Israel on Tuesday. The former Revolutionary Guards commander, who has been consolidating power following the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, declared that Iran would follow the principle of "an eye for an eye" and stated that "the aggressor must be punished." Ghalibaf's hardline stance reflects Iran's continued confrontational approach toward Washington and Tel Aviv amid ongoing regional tensions. The parliamentary speaker's comments signal that Iran's leadership remains committed to its policy of resistance against what it views as American and Israeli aggression in the Middle East.
