Slovak Public Views STVR as Most Pro-Government Broadcaster, Poll Shows
A new survey by the Ipsos polling agency has revealed public perceptions of Slovakia's television news outlets, with TA3 being viewed as the most objective news source by more than half of respondents. The poll, conducted for Denník N newspaper, found that 46 percent of those surveyed considered Joj television's news objective, followed by STVR at 43 percent and Markíza at 37 percent. However, STVR - Slovakia's public broadcaster - was perceived as having the most pro-government bias in its news coverage. Roman Pudmarčík from Ipsos emphasized that these findings reflect public perception rather than an objective assessment of factual accuracy or impartiality based on strict journalistic criteria. The survey highlights ongoing debates about media independence and bias in Slovak television news broadcasting.
