Protest Planned Outside Russian Embassy in Bratislava Over Ukraine War

Activists are organizing a protest outside the Russian embassy in Bratislava, criticizing President Vladimir Putin's regime for exploiting the legacy of victory over fascism to justify current aggression and war crimes in Ukraine. The organizers argue that Russia is misusing historical narratives about defeating fascism in World War II to legitimize its ongoing military actions and alleged atrocities in the Ukrainian conflict. Slovakia, a NATO and European Union member since 2004, has been among the Western countries supporting Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
