Malacky Motorway Junction to Face Full Closure from Friday for Bridge Reconstruction

Share:

A major road closure will take effect at the Malacky motorway interchange north of Bratislava from Friday, July 24, 2026, as reconstruction work begins on a key bridge structure. The Bratislava Self-Governing Region Road Administration (SC BSK), the authority responsible for managing regional roads in the Bratislava area, will carry out reconstruction of bridge object M5142 on road II/503 at the Malacky interchange on the D2 motorway — the main highway connecting Bratislava with the Czech Republic and Poland. All ramp branches at the interchange will be fully closed during the works, meaning drivers will be unable to use the junction to enter or exit the D2 motorway at Malacky for the duration of the construction period. Motorists travelling in the region are advised to expect significant disruptions and plan alternative routes accordingly.
